The newly emerging photovoltaic industry in recent years not only drives the rapid growth of polysilicon demand, but also brings significant opportunities to the graphite material market. The general manager of Shenzhen Oriental Carbon Industry Co., Ltd., a famous domestic graphite material supplier, said that it is expected that the demand for graphite materials in China will increase significantly in the future to match the rapid growth of photovoltaic applications.
He pointed out that the two bottlenecks that originally constrained the development of the photovoltaic industry were polysilicon and special graphite. Now, with the release of polysilicon production capacity, this bottleneck has been broken, but the gap of special graphite is still large. "In the past five years, the global production capacity of special graphite used in electronic semiconductors and solar energy has increased from 25000 tons to 50000 tons. If every country can develop solar energy according to the planning goals, it is expected that this number will reach 70000, 80000 or even 100000 tons in a few years."
At present, carbon related products such as graphite have been widely used in steel smelting (recycling of scrap), construction, new energy, transportation, lithium batteries, medical equipment, sporting goods and other fields.
