Current situation of graphite electrode

In order to change the current situation of using imported needle coke and medium temperature asphalt as raw materials to produce UHP graphite electrodes, domestic oil-based Jinzhou needle coke and Tianjin modified asphalt were used as raw materials to prepare UHP graphite electrodes by adding Fe indica and oleic acid (or stearic acid). Through comparative experiments, the quality differences between domestic Jinshao I'I needle coke and imported needle coke, medium temperature asphalt and modified asphalt, and the corresponding products are explored
Zhou needle coke and Tianfeng modified asphalt were used as raw materials, and 1% Fe: 0 was added. After testing its impact on the product quality, on this basis, different contents of oleic acid and 0.5% stearic acid were added to examine the impact of the two on the product quality. Through testing the indicators and microstructure analysis of all samples, and comparing with the samples produced with imported needle coke and medium temperature asphalt as raw materials, the process parameters for obtaining the best performance are determined, and finally it is determined whether UHP graphite electrode can be produced by this method, so as to realize the localization of ultra-high power graphite electrode. The paper also determines the appropriate amount of oleic acid by testing the surface tension of Tianjin modified asphalt when different amounts of oleic acid are added at 433K, and verifies whether it is consistent with the above experimental results. The experimental results show that this method can produce ultra-high power graphite electrode.
